Structural
Kiwi Lumber produces a full range of Dry Frame products for use in domestic construction. These products are produced as Stress Graded (SG) products and meet all of the required New Zealand Standards as listed below:
- AS/NZS1748:2011 Timber – Mechanically Stress-graded for Structural Purposes.
- NZS3604:2011 Timber Framed Buildings
- NZS3603:1993 A4 Timber Structures Standard
- NZS3622:2004 A1 Verification of Timber Properties
To ensure that all of our timber meets these standards, Kiwi Lumber uses a third party auditing body, Grade Right NZ Ltd 
, to oversee our Quality Assurance testing and procedures. Each board will be stamped the name of the qualified auditor, Grade Right in the case of Kiwi Lumber, the producing mill, the Manufacturing Standard (AS/NZS 1748:2014), the timber grade, either as the letters SG8 or SG6, or as a paint mark (Black for SG8 or Blue for SG6)
All Kiwi Lumber SG products are supplied as kiln dried, this allows for faster close in of the building during the construction process. It is important to remember the effects of treatment on moisture meters when using kiln dried timber.
