Sawmills
All Kiwi Lumber sawmills are maintained to the highest possible standards, and through the use of modern technology we are able to ensure excellent cutting accuracy and efficiency of production. A heavy investment in new technology and modern equipment at our three mills has enabled Kiwi Lumber to continually increase production levels and the product range available to our customers.
Kiwi Lumber Dannevirke, purchased in 1991 and Kiwi Lumber Putaruru purchased in 1999, are both dedicated to cutting pruned logs. These pruned log sawmill are designed for maximising grade recovery of high grade clear lumber.
Kiwi Lumber Masterton, purchased in 2003 is a structural mill focussed on producing framing timber primarily for domestic construction. Our Masterton structural mill is also well suited to producing a large range of treated landscaping products. Recent upgrades to our Masterton mill include a bin sorter (2011), acoustic sorting of logs (2012), additional Windsor kiln (2012) and optimised scanning trimmer (2013).
